HOW IT ALL BEGAN

From having gained a wealth of experience working in the IT sector, Riaan Venter and Etienne Tredoux felt there was a lack of value delivered by telecoms companies. Leading them to found uThetha Telecoms. With the sole mission to inject IT skills and principles into the telecommunications industry.

BUILDING THE RIGHT TEAM

Throughout our growth, we were looking to surround ourselves with people whose ambition and values aligned with uThetha, which led us to Darren Friedman. Having a wealth of experience and the type of drive and skills we knew would make us excel. In 2014, Darren became a director at uThetha.

A MOVE FOR IMPROVEMENT

With a growing team and client base, it became a necessity to find a Head Office outside of Pinelands that could accommodate our team and what they needed to perform, as well as getting us closer to our customers. We found the right choice in Goodwood, which is where we are still located.

NATIONAL GROWTH

uThetha decided it was time to establish a national footprint. Growing into Gauteng was an important step, allowing us to extend our business offerings on a local level. Enabling us to provide in-person support.

Continuing our mission to inject IT skills and principles into the industry we brought Darryl Moses onboard who had an incredible depth of IT knowledge and expertise. After having a big impact with how we navigate and developed our products and services to refine our business offerings, he became a Director in 2020.

A PIVOTAL CHANGE

Undergoing changes occurring internally and externally, we felt the need to evaluate ourselves and the market. Navigating the rapid change in digitisation and what businesses now needed, forced us to pivot. Evaluating what products and services best serve businesses, as well as how we would deliver these.

Having new key processes in place and innovative offerings, whilst understanding our why; ‘By unlocking the potential in our partners, we leave a positive impact on all the communities we collectively support’. Led us to rebranding to TRUENAV, which aligns with the value we are looking to deliver.

As the Co-founder & Head of Sales & Innovation at TRUENAV, Riaan Venter plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and improvement. With 29 years of experience in the telecoms and IT industry, Riaan has consistently steered TRUENAV towards success through his entrepreneurial spirit and strategic acumen.

Riaan’s unrelenting enthusiasm for using technology to unlock business potential is evident in his work. His focus on building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with his team, suppliers, and customers continues to be a cornerstone of TRUENAV’s success.

ETIENNE TREDOUX

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

As the Co-founder & CEO of TRUENAV, Etienne Tredoux is at the helm of driving our company’s vision and strategy. With 33 years of experience in the IT and telecommunications space, Etienne’s analytical nature enables him to simplify complex concepts and systems, equipping TRUENAV to make strategic and sensible decisions that align with the ‘big picture.’

Etienne’s deep technological insight and understanding are invaluable assets that guide TRUENAV, our teams, and our clients. His ability to blend a passion for people and technology is central to TRUENAV’s mission of helping our partners achieve their goals and adding to their success.

As the Head of Operations at TRUENAV, Darryl Moses leads our product development team with a sharp focus on operational excellence. With 17 years of experience in the ICT and telecoms industry, Darryl has become an intuitive problem solver with a constant willingness to learn, making him a key figure in TRUENAV’s growth.

Darryl’s passion for technology and its potential to solve business challenges has been instrumental in guiding TRUENAV in delivering, building, and customising solutions effectively. Executive Relationship Manager

As the Executive Relationship Manager at TRUENAV, Darren Friedmann leads our business development team with a strong focus on building lasting partnerships. His exceptional interpersonal and communication skills have fostered relationships grounded in trust, making him vital in steering TRUENAV towards offering true partnerships that drive our clients’ success.

ROSANNE VAN REENEN

Head of Finance

Rosanne is a seasoned Chartered Accountant with over a decade of post-articles experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the TRUENAV team. A graduate of the University of Pretoria, Rosanne has developed her expertise in senior financial roles across a wide range of industries, including leisure and hospitality, retail, NGOs, and telecommunications.

She is recognised for her strong organisational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to thrive under pressure. In addition to her technical proficiency, Rosanne provides strategic financial leadership, ensuring that TRUENAV maintains robust financial controls and delivers accurate reporting.
